Governor Stumpy’s, a Waldo area restaurant, will hold their 8th annual Celtic Block Party Memorial Day weekend. The party will take place in Governor Stumpy’s parking lot at E. Gregory Boulevard , (just west of Oak Street ) from 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2010. Tickets cost $6 in advance or $8 at the door. (Ticket prices have been reduced from $15 last year.) Proceeds from the event will be donated to Operation Breakthrough, which offers support and advocacy for Kansas City children living in poverty.
Flannigan’s Right Hook, a high energy Irish rock band will open, followed by The Shanks, an 80s and 90s cover band, and Rattle & Hum, a U2 tribute band that features a two hour light show.
