Everyone is spending more time at home so it’s a great time to pull out board games to pass the time. You might be looking for some new options, or maybe some of your old favorites are missing more than a few pieces (our Monopoly hotels always had a way of disappearing).
Right now, you can take advantage of a Buy Two, Get One FREE deal on select board games, card games and video games at Amazon and Target.
There are a lot of options, but the selection differs somewhat between the two sites. Target (whose deal ends April 4 – so hurry!) had over 1,000 games to choose from. Amazon (limited-time offer, no end date given) had 450 qualifying items available.
Keep in mind that, regardless of where you decide to shop, your lowest priced item will be the FREE one. If you’re buying Unstable Unicorns and What Do You Meme? for $19-$30 each, making a $6 Candy Land game your third choice really isn’t your best deal.
We’re really impressed with how many choices there are for both deals so you can’t help but find something your household wants to play. You could also considering buying two items for now and setting one back for an upcoming birthday or Christmas.
Target offers shipping to your house or order pickup from a local store. If you opt to pick up your package, be cool and use the curbside option to limit exposure with others. While you’re at it, you can always add a few other items onto your order. Amazon Prime seems to be doing a pretty good job keeping deliveries on schedule, but you might want to give them a couple of extra days. That means if you’re ordering for Easter you should get busy. Plus, as we mentioned before, Target’s deal ends April 4 and we have no idea when Amazon will shut this down and sink your battleship.
If you’re stumped for ideas, consider Board Game Recommendations from Pawn and Pint.
Tip: We know you can’t go thrift store shopping right now, but when thing settle down Goodwill, Salvation Army Family Stores, etc. are good places to supplement parts and pieces for your board games. Does the Monopoly bank run a little low on cash when you have several players? Instead of tearing through toner printing extra money from an online template, you can usually pick up a used game for $3 or less.
