Arbor Day Giveaway at Overland Park Arboretum

In celebration of Arbor Day, the City of Overland Park and the Legacy of Greenery Committee are giving away FREE tree saplings to visitors on Saturday, April 12th. See details below. This is for Overland Park residents only.

A selection of trees native to Kansas will be available while supplies last to Overland Park residents at the following locations:

Thompson Park, 8045 Santa Fe Drive
Tomahawk Ridge Community Center, 11902 Lowell Avenue
Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, 8909 W. 179th Street

These kinds of giveaways are often popular, so plan to arrive early. The Arboretum opens at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Read all the details here.

Seedlings will be available while supplies last, limit three per family.

National Arbor Day

According to the National Arbor Day Foundation, National Arbor Day this year is April 25, 2025.

The day is set aside world-wide to raise awareness about the value of trees for cleaning our air, filtering water and protecting our soil from erosion.

Overland Park Arboretum Location and Parking

The Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is located at 8909 W 179th St, Bucyrus, KS.

Parking is FREE.
