The Kansas State Fair is still scheduled to take place this year. Celebrate all things about the sunflower state Sept. 11-20, 2020 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Each day of the fair will have a theme and be centered around part of the state’s industry, people, innovations and entertainment. You’ll also be able to enjoy traditional fair favorites of live music and entertainment, contests, exhibits, fair food, carnival games and rides, vendors and more.
If you’re planning to go to the Kansas State Fair this year, here is some helpful information and tips for saving money.
Kansas State Fair Admission
Pricing will be done differently this year. Attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance and online. By doing so, you’ll also save money.
Adults – Save $3! Adult gate admission through Sept. 10 is only $7 a person.
Kids – Save $2 on kids ages 6-12! Ticket prices are $4 per youth through Sept. 10. Kids five and under are free.
Seniors – Senior pricing through Sept. 10 is $4 in advance, $6 at the gate.
Military Discount – All military, retired or active and their families can purchase $4 gate admission tickets with military identification. This offer is only available at Kansas State Fair Ticket Office, Gates during the Fair or McConnell AFB Information, Tickets and Tours Office.
Season Pass – A plastic scannable card that is good for up to 10 gate admissions for a cost of $40. The 10 admissions can be used one per day or in any increments by different people. If you’ve got a group of people going or plan to be at the fair several nights, this is a great deal. You save up to $60 off gate admissions prices. There are limited quantities of season passes available and they must be purchased before Sept. 10.
Gate admission tickets can be ordered online or purchased at Dillon’s grocery stores in Kansas. However, Dillon’s will not be selling the military admission tickets. Those will need to be purchased at Kansas State Fair Ticket Office, Gates during the Fair or in person from McConnell Air Force Base at the Information, Tickets and Tours Office.
Carnival Ride Tickets
In the past most rides on the midway take two to four tickets, depending on the ride.

Special Attractions and Events
There is a cost for some attractions and events, but there are also plenty of free entertainment options, including concerts, roving acts and stage performances.
Who says you can’t be frugal at the fair? Save some money by bringing in your own cooler with snacks, food and non-alcoholic beverages. Of course, all your fried fair favorites will be available for purchase.
