Celebrate all things about the sunflower state during the Kansas State Fair September 9-18, 2022 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Each day of the fair has a variety of events and activities centered around part of the state’s industry, people, innovations and entertainment. You can also enjoy traditional fair favorites of live music and entertainment, contests, exhibits, fair food, carnival games and rides, vendors and more.
If you’re planning to go to the Kansas State Fair this year, here is some helpful information and tips for saving money.
Kansas State Fair Admission
Kansas State Fair attendees need a ticket to enter the fairgrounds during these hours:
- Friday, September 9: 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- September 10-17: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- Sunday, September 18: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Adults – Save $3! Adult gate admission through September 8 is only $7 a person. This goes up to $10 beginning September 9.
Kids – Save $2 on kids ages 6-12! Ticket prices are $4 per youth through September 8 and $6 beginning September 9. Kids five and under are FREE.
Seniors – Senior pricing through September 8 is $4 in advance, $6 beginning September 9.
Military Discount – All military, retired or active and their families can purchase $4 gate admission tickets with military identification. In the past this offer has only been available at Kansas State Fair Ticket Office, Gates during the Fair or McConnell AFB Information, Tickets and Tours Office.
Season Pass – A plastic scannable card that is good for up to 10 gate admissions for a cost of $50. The 10 admissions can be used one per day or in any increments by different people. If you’ve got a group of people going or plan to be at the fair several nights, this is a great deal. You save money off individual gate admissions prices. There are limited quantities of season passes available and they must be purchased by September 8.

At any Kansas Dillons grocery store: Gate Admission and Ride Sheets only’ can be purchased through September 18.
Kansas State Fair Ticket Office: Open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
Kansas State Fair Carnival Rides
Carnival rides take from 2-4 tickets per person, depending on the ride. The exception is Monday, September 12 (Dillons Day), when most rides are 1 ticket per ride.
Ride Sheets: You can buy ride tickets in sheets of 20 for $20 at the Kansas State Fair ticket office or Dillon’s through September 8. The price goes up to $25 starting September 9. Ride sheets are also available at the midway.
Wirstband: A wristband lets you ride as many carnival rides as you want on ONE wristband day (there are designated days when these can be used). Wristbands are $30 per day if purchased before August 31. Wristband prices increase to $35 beginning September 1.
Pre-sale wristbands can be purchased from the Kansas State Fair ticket office or online.

Thursday, September 15: 3 – 10 p.m. (Wristband Day)
Friday, September 16: Noon – 11 p.m. (Wristband Day)
Saturday, September 17: 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
Sunday, September 18: Noon-8 p.m. (Wristband Day)
Special Attractions and Events
There is a cost for some attractions and events, but there are also plenty of free entertainment options, including concerts, roving acts and stage performances.
Concessions
Details on fair food are TBA. In the past, you could save some money by bringing in your own cooler with snacks, food and non-alcoholic beverages. Of course, all your fried fair favorites will be available for purchase.
