The high ceilings and mahogany bar at Pierpont’s at Union Station radiate posh. The awe you feel strolling through Union Station and then into the restaurant may have you reaching protectively for your pocketbook.
Fortunately, we’ve done a little recon so you can see how it’s possible to experience this upscale atmosphere in the most budget-friendly manner.
Pierpont’s Happy Hour
Every day at Pierpont’s can include good times. They offer happy hour specials seven days a week.
You have to sit in the bar area to get the happy hour specials. This is no real hardship since the bar is beautifully crafted with dark wood and glass. If you’re lucky, someone else will splurge on top shelf liquor and you can watch one of the bar tenders climb the ladder to reach the bottles.
There’s limited seating at the bar so come early if you want to take advantage of these deals.
Monday-Friday: 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Specials include:
- $3 off specialty cocktails
- $2 off draft beers
- Select wines are $6/glass; $22/bottle
- $2 off a food board
The most filling and best-priced appetizers are the poutine fries for $10 and the steak crostini for $8.
Somm Sundays
Every Sunday all bottles of wine are 50% off. This special is good at the bar or in the restaurant. We haven’t had a chance to look at the wine list recently so we’re not sure how much the bottles are regularly. Drink up for less from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Winesday
Winesday – discounted wine by the glass – is another special Pierpont’s offers in both the restaurant and bar. The discount is all day from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Pierpont’s at Union Station Location and Parking
Pierpont’s is on the main floor inside Union Station at 30 W Pershing Rd, Kansas City, MO.
Parking is available in two nearby lots and a parking garage. Rates range from $5-$15. You can also ride the KC Streetcar. There’s a stop right in front of Union Station.
