Free Art Gallery Opening

On Friday, Aug. 28,2009, Avila University will host the grand opening of their new Thornhill Art Gallery. The gallery has a new location, new amenities and a brand new look. The opening exhibit, “The Unusual Dreams of Juniper and TJ Tangpuz,” is a family friendly exhibit that combines animals with flowers and instruments made out of corrugated plastic. Pieces on display will include a “Zebraphone,” “Tiger Lily,” “Dandelion” and “Teddy Bear Cactus.” The performers of Kacico Dance will wear pieces of the exhibit during the grand opening festivities. 

The free grand opening event is Friday, Aug. 28, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The exhibit will be on display Aug. 31 through Sept. 30. 

Avila University’s new Thornhill Art Gallery is at 11901 Wornall Rd. in Kansas City, Missouri.
